What does a Garage have to do with Rock and Roll anyway? Garage Rock and Roll was the music of a certain section of society namely American teenagers from the Baby-Boomer generation influenced by British Invasion bands like The Rolling Stones, The Kinks and The Yardbirds and fueled by the mass production of cheap musical instruments and the availability of ready-made rehearsal spaces also known as the suburban two-car garage. Since 2008, The Jackets have unleashed their own brand of sixties-inspired Garage Rock and Roll throughout Switzerland and beyond leaving audiences' heads swimming, ears buzzing and hips shaking and along the way meeting like-minded bands and fans and convincing new-comers to the genre that the Garage is not just a good place to park your car.
The Jackets are Jack Torera (aka Jackie Brutsche) formerly the guitarist for the girl group The Mad Cowgirl Disease from Bern and singer of the Zurich combo The Fox, Chris Rosales, an American who moved to Switzerland in 1994 from Los Angeles, formerly the drummer of Voodoo Rhythm Records bands, Lightning Beat-Man and the Never Heard of 'Ems, Reverend Beat-Man and the Unbelievers and The Get Lost (with ex Miracle Workers Gerry Mohr and Robert Butler) and Samuel 'Schmidi' Schmidiger, singer and guitar player for The Budget Boozers.
In 2006 Jack Torera teamed up with Chris Rosales to form The Trash Department, a two-piece, low-fi noise band. in 2007 they joined forces with Severin Erni former bass player of Tight Finks and The Jackets were born. In November of 2008 Samuel 'Schmidi' Schmidiger replaced Erni on bass and the rest is history. The Jackets released their debut album, "Stuck Inside" on August 1st 2009 on Subversiv Records (Switzerland).
The Jackets have electrified concert-goers in every major city in Switzerland and have also played or toured in Italy, France, Germany, Spain and Portugal sharing the stage with bands like Baby Woodrose, The Monsters, The Magnetix, King Kahn & BBQ, Gonn and The Downliners Sect. The Jackets will release thier second album on March 2nd 2012 on Soundflat Records (Germany).

Seit 2008 jagt das Schweizer Trio The Jackets um Sängerin und Gitarristin Jackie Brutsche erfolgreich ihre eigene Version des sixties-inspirierten Garage Rock n' Rolls durch die Clubs in der Schweiz und im Ausland (Deutschland, Frankreich, Spanien, Portugal, Italien). Der Klang der Jackets ist rot mit violett zuckenden Blitzen, die Melodien sind blau und die Lyrik schwarz. Weil die Band auch mit viel Mimik und Gestik den Inhalt und die Form ihrer Musik unterstreichen, sind ihre Auftritte genauso hin- wie mitreissend. Nach ihrem Debut-Album "Stuck Inside" 2009 wird am 2. März 2012 das Folgewerk auf Soundflat Records (Deutschland) erscheinen.
Die Band wurde 2007 vom Songwriter-Team Jackie Brutsche und Chris Rosales ins Leben gerufen, die zuvor unter dem Namen The Trash Department spielten und für The Jackets den Bassisten Severin Erni ins Boot holten. Sein Nachfolger Samuel Schmidiger stiess Ende 2008 dazu und ist seither festes Mitglied der Band. Alle stammen aus mehreren legendären und bühnenerprobten Schweizer Bands; Jackie Brutsche spielte bei "The Fox" und "The Mad Cowgirl Disease", Chris Rosales bei "Reverend und Lightning Beat-Man" oder "The Get Lost!" und Samuel Schmidiger spielte bei "Suehiro Commander" und "Die Tapete" und ist seit mehreren Jahren auch Gitarrist und Sänger bei "The Budget Boozers".

Formado en 2007, este poderoso trío suizo siempre ha apostado por una explosiva combinación de garage ‘sixtie’ y revival mod, psicodelia y punk rock, con lo que en vivo sus principales influencias denotan ecos de bandas como MC5 , The Monks o The Music Machine, pero también de nombre tan legendarios como The Rolling Stones, The Kinks y The Yardbirds.
El trío está integrado por la guitarrista y cantante Jackie Brutsche, que lleva unos cuantos años tocando en grupos como The Fox y The Mad Cowgirl Disease; el bateria Chris Rosales es un americano que emigró a Europa en el 94, y desde entonces no ha parado de girar junto a bandas del calibre de Get Lost o Super Supers; y completa la formación el bajista Samuel ‘Schmidi’ Schimidiger que viene de tocar con The Budget Boozers.
El año pasado el grupo publicaba su primer álbum titulado ‘Struck inside’, un trabajo que ha recibido excelentes criticas y que actualmente están presentándolo en una extensa gira por toda Europa, donde ya cuentan con mucho peso dentro de la escena del rock más alternativo.
Lo suyo son guitarras enrabietadas, potentes líneas de bajo y una batería demoledora, todo ello arropando a una voz (la de ella)que parece estrellarse continuamente contra un muro, sobre todo cuando el grupo de Berna está sobre el escenario; y es que se trata de una banda que nunca defrauda en directo ofreciendo su potente rock & roll en estado puro, salvaje y primitivo.

The Jackets, qui parcourent le monde depuis 4 ans avec leur son si bon pour le coeur et l'âme ...du rock'n'roll avec ce qu'il faut de Rolling Stones, mais trempé dans les Sonics et les Seeds, tout simplement. Du bon vrai garage punk en trio avec la merveilleuse Jackie Brutsche (guitare chant) et une groovy section rythmique avec Chris Rosales (batteur, a tourné avec le Reverend Beatman) et Samuel Schmidiger (Bass, qui joue de la guitare avec le Budget Boozers). Tout ça en Jaquettes classes et boots en cuir. La frime 60's. Réputés dans les festivals Beat autour du monde, ils sont surprenants et attachants, mais terriblement sauvages finalement.
